WELCOME to Presence of Mind! We offer peaceful, positive moments in a busy world!  This is also a way to work with the partner of your logical, thinking mind – the complementary world of imagination and creativity – a world with quiet depths constantly unfolding.  The harmonious symphony of using all your inner resources is what is meant by “presence of mind.” It is not a state of mind to strive for or to try to achieve. Instead, it is an awareness to relax into. These guided imagery programs are designed for discovering this special kind of relaxation. This discovery process is like finding an endless series of books by your favorite author… your  Self!

Science has advanced our understanding of the magnificence of the mind, using instruments and data to chart the ongoing rhythms of our inner life.  As adults, much of your waking/working time is dominated by the beta level of awareness – a state of mind used to think, evaluate, prioritize, analyze and make decisions. With Bridge Cochise Strongholdthese guided imagery programs, you gently alter or change from beta dominant consciousness to incorporate alpha, a quieter state of mind. It is also the bridge to accessing the subconscious states of alpha, theta and delta… each with light, medium and deep levels… each with its own gifts. This bridge opens your awareness with a technique known as “an alpha relaxation session,” or simply a “session” or “program.”  Your mind naturally seeks its own level when you give it the opportunity to relax completely.

There are 2 ways to listen to these. The first is to listen casually. The programs begin phone-headphones-3341with progressive relaxation all through the body from outer shell to inner core. If all you get from these is a way to de-stress, melt tension and refresh your energy, you’ve given yourself a gift of inestimable worth! The second way is to repeat them more consistently to create change. Use your own subconscious level of habit to accelerate goals, release the negative emotional charge of memories from the past, find an antidote to worrying, deal with difficult people and situations and much more.   3. To enjoy a simple way to intentionally and easily attract more of what you want in your life according to the themes of the guided imagery programs that you select.

 

 

Guidelines to Insure Your Success:

  1. Sit or lie down to be comfortable, using a recliner, a sofa,  a place on the floor or your bed. If you use your bed, lie down in a different position than the one you use for sleeping – diagonally or placing your feet where your head usually rests. When you lie down, stretch out with your ankles/legs uncrossed, arms extended at your side and palms up to facilitate circulation. If it is important to reduce lower back strain, place a pillow under your knees. Loosen anything tight or restrictive. If you wear glasses/contacts, take them off. Do not use these audios when driving or operating equipment.
  1. 55328512 - inspirational stones - successEach guided imagery program is about 20+ minutes.  Research finds this time to be both effective and efficient. The first part of every audio is devoted to giving you time to relax and unwind physical, mental and emotional tension from your inner core.  After that, each program has a series of positive ideas around a central theme – something of value to replace the useless tension you have released.   Most of the guided imagery audio downloads use the same music composed especially for our programs so that you can relax even more quickly and deeply with repetition.  The Gifting Your Child Program has its own music.
  1. In the beginning, use the same place to practice so that you have a place that you associate with relaxation. Let that be a place free of negative connotations.
  1. Play the volume of your audio very softly. The first time you may want to listen to all of the ideas. If there is something you don’t agree with, just say silently to yourself “Cancel.” And if there is something you especially like, you might feel like saying “Yes.” The vocals are purposefully modulated to help you to relax. After the first time, it is not necessary to listen to the words. So just let go and imagine the words moving over you the way the breeze blows softly through the trees.  
  1. You do not have to remember the words because each audio program has its own special symbol  that activates the entire suggestion. These are mostly common things that you see each day so that the suggestions are automatically activated.  If the audio session is particularly meaningful to you, find a way to have that symbol in a place where you see it each day.
  1. CompetenceThere are daytime guided imagery programs and night time programs.  At the end of the daytime audio you will hear me say “Wide Awake” 3 times. That is your signal to come back to waking awareness. If you wish to use an audio program with a daytime ending at night, turn off your device before “Wide Awake” or say “Cancel” when it occurs. Usually, just having the intention of using it to go to sleep is enough to override the ending. Know that the purpose of these materials is for you to teach your own mind to respond to your wishes… your goals.
  1. After you do your guided imagery relaxation program, “break/change state,” meaning stand up, move around or take a sip of water, so that you do something active. You want to make a distinction between doing a relaxation session and going to sleep. During your session, your body is able to unwind tension. If you awaken tired, it is only an indication that there is more tension to unwind. Recognize that illness creates tension; it’s natural to want to rest more because alpha is a level where the body repairs and renews itself.  Guided imagery is synonymous with terms such as visualization, guided meditation, alpha relaxation, self-hypnosis, subconscious programming and many more!  All of these terms refer to what your mind does naturally – it goes into a quieter state many times each day and night.  These programs teach you to access and use this state for your own purposes.
  1. Three guided imagery sessions a day are ideal to propel you towards a goal, while one per day still provides relaxation and stress relief. Popular times have been: Early morning/before work, mid morning, before/after lunch, late afternoon/after work, before/after dinner. One fascinating phenomenon is that by making time and taking time for yourself you seem to gain time. Because your mind is able to quietly “defrag” and sort out information, you may find that you actually seem to have more time. Check it out.
  1. Leave at least one hour between sessions. As you release tension, you may feel more and more energetic. You might not want to recharge your energy with a session a couple of hours before you go to bed. Notice how it affects you and adjust accordingly.
  1. Brain Building MuscleIf you want to use your guided imagery program as a catalyst for change, repeat listening to it at least 21 times – the time it takes to begin forming a new neural pathway, a new level of attraction, a new way of thinking and behaving since thought/belief/habit precede action. Change may occur during or awhile after you’ve done this. It may also take additional work. We’ll discuss why and how in the next level we publish. You can finish one series in a week if you listen to 3 sessions a day or complete one in three weeks if you listen once a day. Being consistent improves results.  When using this to create change, each night program is done 21 nights consecutively.
  1. Use your environment. Let every sound or movement carry you deeper. To be effective, you want to be able to achieve a relaxed state anytime you choose. No two guided imagery relaxation sessions are alike, just like no two days are alike. There are light, medium and deep levels of relaxation. Total unawareness is a deep level, it does not mean that you went to sleep as long as you awaken at the end when you hear “Wide Awake.”
