  The Sunnyside Foundation became a 501c3 non-profit organization in 1983 through the efforts of Weldon and Dorothy Gates, Ph.D. The Sunnyside Foundation became an umbrella for sponsoring seminars, classes, and developing programs. It provided a place for students to contribute. The Foundation served as a platform to interact within communities as well as raise funds.

Dorothy Gates, Ph.D., was the founder, architect and instructor of the Spectra Dynamics Seminar. Seminars were held six times per year in Tucson. The program grew with the students. As Dorothy’s own family grew, the seminar attendees also married and had children. A children’s program began as First Hour and evolved over the years into Gifting Your Child. We used the LEARN Program to obtain degrees, licenses and build our skills, It expanded into a Teen Program. Over the years, the LEARN Program became a way for all ages to accelerate their ability to learn, acquire skills and build competence. Dr. Dorothy Gates taught, researched material for the seminar and advanced classes, led study groups to various sites such as Egypt, India and South America, and trained teachers.

The Sunnyside Foundation is guided by a board of directors that meets annually in the spring, and as needed during the year. It interfaces with Presence of Mind, LLC whose products are based on the original material.

Mission: The Sunnyside Foundation is dedicated to presenting research, publications and seminars as a resource to serve individuals seeking personal growth. There are five goals.

1) Archive. The Sunnyside Foundation is the steward of the intellectual property of the original work of the founder, Dorothy Gates, Ph.D. and the Foundation instructors. This includes audio and written material. We are creating a digital library of legacy materials that can be accessed online for a national and international audience while protecting and maintaining the integrity of the original teachings to ensure access for future generations.
2) Teach/Train. The Sunnyside Foundation teachers are available to teach, train and provide educational material for live and online classes as well as community presentations. The Sunnyside Foundation has the ability to train and certify teachers and facilitators to lead classes and workshops in their region using approved materials. It may offer scholarships and grants to expand dissemination of the materials and programs.
3) Publish. The Foundation publishes and develops material for use with schools, community programs and the public.
4) Collaborate. The Foundation seeks to build community relations and collaboration with complementary local, national and international organizations.
5) Promote. The Sunnyside Foundation promotes the audio products and written material and publications. Outreach includes raising awareness about the Sunnyside Foundation’s mission and tools for personal growth a such as offering scholarships and grants.
